How to keep your nuts in perfect condition

Cómo conservar tus frutos secos en perfecto estado

Everyone knows that our nuts are among the best on the market. From the Chamberí neighborhood , where our main store is located, to the residential neighborhood of Mar Mekhael in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. cashews , macadamia nuts and almonds  are a hit wherever they go and few people can resist their charms.

However, there is something that can spoil the party for you. No, we're not referring to the bitter taste of an almond, that almond that no matter how much you try to avoid, always ends up with you and that is also usually the last one in the bag, thus fulfilling Murphy's Law. There is something that is tremendously unpleasant and that luckily we can avoid if we do things right: that our nuts become soft. Horror!

The autumn and winter seasons and locations near the sea are especially susceptible to this unpleasant effect and, as you can imagine, Moisture is nuts' worst enemy. If you don't store your nuts properly, they'll become soft and lose the crunchy texture that's so wonderful when you bite into a roasted wasabi-flavored cashew nut we stock in our store, for example.

Today we give you 3 simple but essential tricks to preserve your nuts like the first day. Here we go:

  1. The The ideal temperature for nuts is below 20º. High temperatures are not good for our friends. In times of extreme heat, you can store them in the refrigerator. If you also buy large quantities of nuts and don't expect to consume them in a short period of time, store them in the freezer. Do this in small 50g packages, seal them tightly, and write the date. You'll see how they still retain their texture after a few weeks.
  2. Keep them away from light . Just as with temperature, light is not a good ally. Furthermore, if we're talking about walnuts, hazelnuts, or cashews—shelled nuts—this factor becomes even more important. We'll prevent them from oxidizing and developing an unpleasant aftertaste.
  3. The best solution is a Good preservation . You can use clothespins, elastic bands, zip-lock bags—any method that guarantees optimal preservation. We recommend using airtight containers. They're easy to find and will ensure your next bite remains crunchy.

Once you've reviewed these points, don't forget to seal your nuts properly. This is the only way they'll be preserved in good condition and maintain their crunchy texture for longer.

See you soon!
